COGNITIVE MENTORING
PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN
3, 4&5 YRS OLD

Our program consists of a mixed group of three–year–olds and four–year–olds with a full day program, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 3:15 p.m. Students have a rest time after lunch. We have  teachers with cognitive mentoring and therapy certification as well as Child Development Associate Certification.  Most teachers are bilingual (Spanish and English) and some may speak other languages as well.

Our goal is to provide a developmentally appropriate and individualized learning environment for each child to enable him/her to grow physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively. Our classroom is “child–centered.” We facilitate and guide children into making appropriate choices. We stretch a child's mind with new experiences and activities daily. For young children, meaningful and long-lasting learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work. This is best accomplished through purposeful play facilitated by highly intentional teaching practices.

We do this in a safe, loving and caring environment providing each child with a sense of security, trust and belonging. We know that when children feel safe, they are more able to explore not only materials but also their relationships with peers and adults.

>  3 HOURS: 9AM-12 NOON

Our program is specially designed to provide your child with extra academic help and preparation for the all important state examinations that determine if your child will be promoted or be left back. In these few hours, we accomplish the creation of an extended school week with precise practical strength building curriculum exercises and practice.  When commenced early in the regular school year, we have helped all students to achieve success in all their academic areas and to pass the examinations.

For students who are having severe trouble in their school work we highly suggest that you enroll them in our regular after-school program found above this article in addition to this Saturday program or, better still, the Weekly Saturday Cognitive Brain-Boost Camp found in the next section below.  All our programs have helped failing students to be promoted with their classes.  The earlier your child is registered the better it will be for their present and future success.
